Rafeyri would like to congratulate Neptune ehf. with their ambisous upgrade of one of their research vessel, the Poseidon research ship.

Poseidon is the second ship that Neptune ehf. has at their disposal. Both of their ships are former Icelandic fishing ships that have been completely remodelled as high tech research vessels. Both Slippurinn and Rafeyri have worked hundreds of hours on the project and are delivering the ship with pride.

Both ships are research vessels and both are equiped with the best location equipment avalible. The former ship, Neptune EA 41 has been on the "Nord Stream Project" that aims to map the bottom of the ocean where it is later planed to lay a gas pipline from Russia to Germany.

In the early June, Posedon set sail from Akureyri harbour on it's way to Canada were the final renovations would be finished. A special request came from Neptune ehf. that one of ours, Eiríkur Vignir Kristvinsson would follow the boat and carry on the complicated and delicate finish of the project.
